Unwanted or excess facial hair can, for some women, be a distressing condition. Vaniqa cream is a cream available on prescription, which can reduce hair growth from the roots. This can result in a significant reduction in facial hair, providing a lasting solution to the problem.

    What is Vaniqa Cream?

Vaniqa cream is the medication especially made from Eflornithine. It is a popular topical drug that slows down hair growth in the face and around the chin of women. The medication cannot be used for hair found on the rest of the body. The cream blocks particular elements such as enzymes that facilitate hair growth. The result is it slows down hair growth and makes it lighter in colour and finer. However, the cream does not entirely remove the hair.

This is not suitable for children 12 years and younger.

    How does Vaniqa Cream work?

The ingredients found in Vaniqa cream, particularly Eflornithine (Hydrochloride Monohydrate), block the production of ODC or Ornithine Decarboxylase enzyme. To produce new hair strands, the ODC enzyme is required to create Polyamines that induce rapid hair growth. Without this enzyme, the skin is incapable of creating hair. Vaniqa cream works in effectively blocking the ODC enzyme, hence slowing down the growth of hair.

    How to use Vaniqa Cream?

Put a thin layer of the cream onto the clean and dry face or chin area where unwanted hair growth is prevalent. Rub the cream thoroughly in the affected area. The medication must be applied thoroughly such that there is no visible cream after rubbing it in. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying Vaniqa cream. For best results, the treated area must not be wet or cleaned for about 4 hours after application. You can apply sunscreen or makeup over the treated area, but allow 5-10 minutes to pass prior to application. Users see visible improvements in as little as 4 to 8 weeks of consistent usage. Vaniqa cream works slowly, so use it with caution and as directed in the packaging. Do not use the product on other parts of the body or use it more often than prescribed. The hair growth will be reduced and the risk of side effects will not occur. Consult with your doctor should the area of the skin where Vaniqa cream is applied becomes red or irritated.

    Benefits of Vaniqa

Vaniqa cream reduces hair growth considerably in the face and the chin area which is suitable for women. It does not stop hair growth entirely or remove hair but, it slows down the growth of unwanted hair. With continued usage, the hair in the face and chin area are becoming less prominent, less coarse, and makes unwanted hair appear lighter.
