Overview
What is Doxycycline?
Doxycycline (sometimes referred to as Doxycycline hyclate) is a tetracycline antibiotic that you can buy online at Cloud Pharmacy. It is used to treat various types of infections, such as infections of the respiratory tract, typhus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, chancroid, cholera, brucellosis, anthrax, acne, and periodontal disease. It is also used to prevent malaria when travelling to high-risk countries.
Doxycycline is used for the treatment of bacterial infections only, not for viral infections such as the flu and the common cold. This medication should be used as directed by the doctor only. Any misuse of unnecessary use of the medication may result in decreased effectiveness.
How does Doxycycline work?
Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria that caused the infection. It is used in the treatment of a wide variety of infections caused by bacteria, including those bacteria that cause acne. It may also be used in the prevention of malaria.
How do I use Doxycycline?
Doxycycline is a prescription-only medication. Always follow the advice of your doctor and read the patient information leaflet provided in the medication packet.
The capsules should be swallowed whole with a drink of water, with or without food, and it’s best to take them at the same time each day (to help you remember).
Side Effects
One of the reasons that Doxycycline is so commonly prescribed is the fact that it's able to treat infections effectively without often causing side effects, however, it still is a prescription medication, so side effects are still possible. The most frequently experienced side effects patients report aren't normally serious, and can potentially include headaches, nausea, diarrhoea, skin rashes or dizziness. Speak to your doctor immediately if you start to notice anything more serious or if these possible side effects persist or become worrisome.
Warnings
Whilst experiencing an adverse reaction is unlikely, it's important to be aware that certain medications can interact badly with other ones you are taking. It's always wise to read the patient information leaflet, which is included with your medication and is available for download on this page.
