Covid 19 Home Test Kit - PCR Lab Test
The Covid-19 test screens for coronavirus. Although it is a lab test, you are able to collect your own sample using a throat and nose swab at home. This will then be returned to our UK Government accredited partner lab for processing and testing using the pre-paid envelope provided.
On purchasing the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Test online from our MHRA and GPhC Registered UK Pharmacy, you will receive your sample kit the next working day and results will be given to you via a text message or through access to our online portal in 2-3 days of having the kit returned to the lab in the prepaid envelope.
If you are a NHS front line worker who is having trouble accessing testing, send us an email from your NHS account for a discount.
At Cloud Pharmacy, our ethos has always been to put "people over profits" therefore we have decided to price this private coronavirus test service lower than any other online service or clinic. We will be happy to price match should you find the same test being offered for less.
**PLEASE NOTE- IF YOUR RESULTS COME BACK EARLIER OR LATER THAN EXPECTED, WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE**
No Hidden Costs
How Does the CoronaVirus (Covid-19) Home Testing Kit Work?
In each one of your coronavirus home testing kits you will find one swab, the same swab used first for your throat and then for your nose. You will collect samples from both areas and with the enclosed pre-paid envelope, you will send your sample to our UK government accredited laboratory.
Your sample will be analysed using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing. PCR testing is a very sensitive type of test that is used in the lab to allow for the viewing of small molecules clearly. The PCR test will allow the scientists to look for a sample of what the virus is made up of (RNA) and therefore determine whether or not the virus exists in the sample provided. Since the virus can exist in the body for a long period of time (5-14 days) prior to the patient showing symptoms, the PCR covid-19 home testing kit will be able to detect the Viral RNA prior to you experiencing the symptoms, hopefully giving you enough time to self-isolate (hyperlink blog).
Should I Get Tested for Covid-19 Coronavirus?
If you have been in contact with anyone who may have the virus; if you have, or are experiencing any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19 or if you have been in a country with a high rate of people infected, then you are a suitable candidate for testing. The kit can be used in the comfort of your own home and sent out using the pre-paid envelope provided.
How Will I Know If I Have Covid-19 and How Long Will it Take?
Once the laboratory has processed your sample, you will receive an email and a text to let you know of your results. You can do this by adding your phone number to the enclosed documents so the lab can contact you directly. The test does not detect if you have had the virus, it only tells you if you have it. Once the lab has received your results, it will take 2-3 working days until you will get your results back.

Can I Legally Buy the Home Test Kit?
Cloud Pharmacy is a GPhC and MHRA registered UK Online pharmacy. We undergo scrutiny from the UK government and our regulatory bodies on a regular basis and thus, we will only ever trade with what is legal and what is advised by our governing bodies. The home test kits are completely legal, they are not at all similar to the rapid testing blood Coronavirus test kits, which is what you may have heard of.
How Accurate are the Coronavirus Home Testing Kits?
With the correct swab technique, the results are accurate and will produce a reliable result. All samples are analysed using the PCR technique, which is a testing method approved by Public Health England. No test will ever be 100%
Can I get a Certificate of my results?
Please email us after you have placed your order should you require a printable certificate of your result.
