Overview
The active ingredient in the medicine (the part that makes it work) is called cetirizine hydrochloride. This type of medication belongs to a family of medicines called 'antihistamines'. Cetirizine 10mg tablets are mainly used to relieve the symptoms associated with hay fever such as sneezing, runny/itchy nose and itchy/watery eyes. Cetirizine can also be used to deal with symptoms associated with skin rashes such as urticaria. This medication is suitable for children aged 6 and up and adults.

How to Take Cetirizine Hay Fever Tablets
You must ensure that you take the medication as described in the patient information leaflet (PIL), by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure about anything please consult your doctor or pharmacist. You must swallow this tablet with water.
For children aged between 6 and 12 years of age: Take HALF a tablet TWICE daily.
For the Elderly, adults or children 12 years and over: Take ONE tablet ONCE daily.
For patients who suffer from reduced kidney function or impairment, it is advised you take HALF a 10mg tablet (5mg) ONCE daily. For those with severe kidney or liver damage, you must consult your doctor or pharmacist for adequate dose adjustment.
