Vitamins and Mineral Supplements
Vitamins and minerals play essential roles in maintaining overall health, from supporting the immune system and energy levels to promoting healthy bones, skin and hair. While a balanced diet should provide most of the nutrients your body needs, certain life stages, dietary restrictions, health conditions or lifestyle factors can make supplementation beneficial.
The NHS recommends that most adults in the UK consider taking a vitamin D supplement, particularly during the autumn and winter months. Pregnant women are advised to take folic acid and vitamin D. Cloud Pharmacy stocks a range of vitamins and supplements from trusted brands. All products are dispatched by our GPhC-registered pharmacy team.

FAQ
Do I need to take a vitamin D supplement?
The NHS recommends that all adults in the UK consider a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms (400IU) of vitamin D during autumn and winter (October to March). People with limited sun exposure year-round, darker skin, or who are housebound may benefit from supplementing throughout the year.
Are supplements safe during pregnancy?
Some supplements are specifically formulated for pregnancy (such as Pregnacare). The NHS recommends folic acid (400mcg daily) from before conception until at least week 12, and vitamin D (10mcg daily) throughout pregnancy. Avoid supplements containing vitamin A (retinol) during pregnancy. Always check the label or ask your pharmacist.
