Fungal Nail Infection Treatments
Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) cause the nail to become thickened, discoloured, brittle and sometimes crumbly. They are common, particularly on toenails, and can take several months to treat because the antifungal agent must work as the healthy nail grows through. Over-the-counter nail lacquers containing amorolfine are the first-line treatment for mild to moderate fungal nail infections.
Important Safety Information
- Treatment takes time - you may need to use antifungal nail lacquer for six months (fingernails) to twelve months (toenails) to see full results
- If the infection affects more than two nails or involves the base (matrix) of the nail, see your GP, as you may need prescription oral antifungal treatment

Curanail 5% Nail Lacquer (Amorolfine)
Curanail contains amorolfine, an antifungal that penetrates the nail to reach the infection underneath. It is applied once or twice weekly like a regular nail lacquer, making it convenient to use. Treatment continues until a healthy nail has grown through completely - typically six months for fingernails and nine to twelve months for toenails.
