Important Safety Information
- Emollient creams and ointments can make skin and surfaces slippery - take care in the bath or shower
- Some emollients containing paraffin are flammable when absorbed into fabric - avoid naked flames and do not smoke while wearing clothing treated with paraffin-based products
- Apply emollients by smoothing them gently into the skin in the direction of hair growth, rather than rubbing vigorously
- If you are using a medicated cream (such as hydrocortisone) alongside an emollient, apply the emollient first and wait at least 20 to 30 minutes before applying the medicated cream

Aveeno
Aveeno products contain colloidal oatmeal, a natural ingredient with soothing, moisturising and protective properties. Colloidal oatmeal helps to relieve itching and irritation while strengthening the skin's moisture barrier. Aveeno is suitable for dry, sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
Aquamax
Aquamax is a paraffin-based emollient cream that provides an effective moisturising barrier for dry skin conditions. It is available in a large 500g tub, making it cost-effective for people who need to apply emollient liberally and frequently.
E45
E45 is one of the most widely recognised emollient brands in the UK. E45 Cream contains white soft paraffin, light liquid paraffin and hypoallergenic lanolin, which help to soothe and protect dry, itchy and flaking skin.

How often should I use an emollient?

What is the difference between a cream, lotion and ointment?
